Providing Preventive Vet Care

A simple way you can help keep your pet healthy is by protecting him or her against parasites. Heartworms, fleas, ticks, and other internal and external parasites are much more than just pests; they can cause life-threatening conditions in your pet—and cause severe, potentially fatal, health problems for you and your family.

Regular checkups are an important tool for identifying problems before they become more serious. Even when pets are in pain, they don’t always reveal it. However, an experienced veterinarian can check for some of the common ailments and determine if there is a medical problem. If your pet seems unusually lethargic or is exhibiting troubling behaviors, schedule a visit with our veterinarian for preventive vet care in Niagara Falls.

Wellness & Vaccination Programs

Wellness and vaccination programs are designed to prevent disease and prolong the lives of your companion animals. Disease prevention is always less costly than dealing with the treatment of a disease once your pet has developed it. An example would be the treatment of parvovirus. Parvovirus treatment can frequently cost 10 times more than a single parvovirus vaccination. We provide programs for:

Early diagnosis of a disease process can lead your pet to a longer healthier life. There are many other conditions to which an early diagnosis is advantageous. For compassionate programs made especially to tackle wellness and vaccinations in Niagara Falls, book an appointment with our veterinary care professionals and specialists at the Niagara Falls Animal Medical Centre.

Medical Assessment

Medical Assessment

To ensure a proper diagnosis, we often need to examine your pet. We begin a medical assessment by looking at your pet’s eyes, ears, and skin and checking his or her cardiovascular, neurological, gastrointestinal, and skeletal systems for any abnormalities. We will perform blood and/or urine tests as necessary to check your pet’s kidneys, liver, pancreas, and endocrine system, including the thyroid and adrenal glands.

Based on your pet’s condition, we may recommend further diagnostic tests, such as radiography (x-rays), endoscopy (internal scoping), ultrasound, or biopsy. If you’re concerned that something may be wrong with your pet, please call us to schedule a medical assessment. Depending on the symptoms, we may ask you to bring in your pet right away.

Flea

Flea & Tick Control

A flea and tick problem on your pet means a flea and tick problem in your home. Understanding the flea and tick life cycle and methods for its control can be a daunting task. We will gladly assist you in this process. We can provide you with safe, effective flea prevention and if necessary, flea and tick treatment.

Contact us if you notice your dog or cat scratching excessively or if he or she develops any bare patches, scabs, scaling, redness, inflammation, lumps, or bumps.
